Maddie-The truth of the lie :take 2

You girls know that hubby gave me this book about the Maddie McCann case.
I don't know if you remember my post about it...
About what I feel and think over this subject...The person who wrote
this book is the police inspector that was leading the investigation
and then was discharged of his duty with no reasonable explanation
(While the investigation was still on...)
I still wonder who are that couple to have so much POWER!...
I
could post a never ending number of that book passages to make my point
about this, but this one I'm posting here is pretty clear to
demonstrate my point of view...Here in Portugal we have this old saying
that goes like this: «To a good understander, half word is enough...»
This was a couple of weeks prior they became "arguidos" in the case...
The
investigators observed that there were 2 realities in the couple's
bedroom. On the Kate Healy side there were several pictures of the girl
on the wall all of them had either a rosary or a saint (like if they
were watching over the little girls soul). And on the  nightstand there
was a bible  with a saint picture marking this particular page of the
Old Testament (Samuel II,12th chapter):

«13David said to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the Lord.’ Nathan said to David, ‘Now the Lord has put away your sin; you shall not die.
14Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child that is born to you shall die.’
15Then Nathan went to his house.

The Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became very ill.
16David therefore pleaded with God for the child; David fasted, and went in and lay all night on the ground.
17The elders of his house stood beside him, urging him to rise from the ground; but he would not, nor did he eat food with them.
18On the seventh day the child died. And the
servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead; for
they said, ‘While the child was still alive, we spoke to him, and he
did not listen to us; how then can we tell him the child is dead? He
may do himself some harm.’
19But when David saw that his servants were
whispering together, he perceived that the child was dead; and David
said to his servants, ‘Is the child dead?’ They said, ‘He is dead.’

20 Then David rose from the ground, washed, anointed himself, and changed his clothes. He went into the house of the Lord, and worshiped; he then went to his own house; and when he asked, they set food before him and he ate.
21Then his servants said to him, ‘What is this
thing that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while it
was alive; but when the child died, you rose and ate food.’
22He said, ‘While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, “Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me, and the child may live.”
23But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.’

24 Then David consoled his wife Bathsheba, and went to her, and lay with her; and she bore a son, and he named him Solomon. The Lord loved him,
25and sent a message by the prophet Nathan; so he named him Jedidiah, because of the Lord

On Gerry side of the room there was nothing related to the
girl...Just some books that made the investigators go like :"what????"
  • Missing and abducted children: a law enforcement guide
  • Training Courses, CEOP (SERIOUS ORGANIZED CRIME AGENCY-CHILD EXPLOITATION AND ONLINE PROTECTION)
  • Making Every Child Matter, CEOP
This books are RESERVED  to law enforcement agents ONLY!How did he got them??.....

Mistakes or Get-Overs?

What is it with public officials that do not pay the taxes they should? Is it really just a mistake on their part? Is it they are trying to get over in hopes that they don't get caught, and if they do, they claim "IT WA JUST A MISTAKE, AN OVERSIGHT!"?

Tom Daschle, President Obama's nominee for Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, is now facing confirmation by the Senate and he is facing tough questioning about his failure to pay more than $128,000 in taxes in the three years before Obama nominated Daschle. A few weeks ago, it was Federal Reserve Bank nominee Timothy F. Geithner, who claimed it was just an oversight, a mistake, that he did not pay all his taxes due for several years. Time and time again, we have seen in the past public officials plagued by the issue of not paying taxes.

I don't know about you, but when I file my income tax return, I am extremely cautious and even a bit nervous about reporting ALL my income! I don't want to mess with the IRS because I know that can end up in high fines or even jail time. (Remember Al Capone? Wasn't he eventually brought down because of tax issues, not murder or other crimes?).

Is it because the public officials in question are dealing with a lot more money than someone like me? Or is it more like they know exactly what they are doing and hope not to get caught? If caught, claim idiocy?

Wordless Wednesday--18th Edition

Lately...

«Lately»

"Lately I've been living in a roller coaster...
Up and down...
And twisting around...
Sometimes in the clouds...
Sometimes in the ground...
Embracing so many questions!
Which answers just can't be found!...
And when everything seems to be over and clear,
Here we go again, for an extra round!

Lately I've been living high above my self...
Just trying to figure it out...
Where's my place on Earth?...
Why do I feel like screaming and shout?!
Am I still a woman?Or just a wife?...Or a mother?...
Does anybody really cares about?!...

Lately,I've been living...
And that's all that matters for now...
I eat...I breath...I love...
Even when reason tells me to slow down...
I fall and I get up...
I fail and I retry...
I reinvent my self
Thou I don't know why,
The answers will come somehow..."

Barack Obama: A Racial Stepping Stone?

As we all know by now, Tuesday, Inauguration Day, brings with it an historical moment in US history, the first African-American President. Before the election, and since, we have seen African-Americans across this land and even in other countries smile with pride as they await this history-changing event. I too watched the night Obama was elected, and I felt a little bit of that pride. Every time I saw the camera pan to an older African-American person, I would think to myself, "What joy must be coming to that person." When I saw the camera pan to a young African-American child, I thought, "What hope must come to that child. He can now really believe he can be anything he wants to be." I admit, being a White American, I DO NOT understand the true feelings that go on in a person of color's mind and being! I can't! I grew up in a middle class white household, and I realize the advantage I have because of that; not necessarily because of my own doings, but because I just happened to be born in the family I was.
One of the things I have heard time and time again from the African-Americans interviewed on TV is that they never really thought this day would come. Donna Brazile said the other day on CNN that even though her parents told her as a child that she could grow up to be anything she wanted, Brazile said as soon as her parents left the room, she and the other children knew they were lying. They were Black, and could not really be anything they wanted. An African-American coworker and I were discussing the "patriotism" that is pounded into American children from the time they are very young that the US is the best country in the world and that nobody compares to Americans. She stated to me that in her culture that was not the case. She was told first and foremost that she was Black, American second. I hear this quite often.
So, why was Barack Obama, an African-American, not told this? Or, if he was, why did Barack Obama not believe it? What makes Barack Obama different, and why is his time now? Could it be that Barack Obama grew up in a White household? Perhaps, much like my life, Obama was not told he was black first, but he was an American. Maybe Barack Obama, like me, was told he could be anything he wanted, and Obama believed that. What if Barack Obama had been raised by two African-American parents with African-American grandparents? Would he be where he is today?
Is Barack Obama a racial stepping stone? Is the fact that Barack Obama, part African-American, and part White American, what has put him in the position historically he is in? Would America have been ready to elect an "all African-American" President? There have been other African-American individuals try to be elected President, but they never made it very far.
Will Barack Obama pave the way for a future African-American President. I hope so! I hope that by electing Barack Obama, all White Americans will finally realize that color is only skin deep!

Keeping my baby close to me

When ever I have a baby I always like to feel him close to me...It's like if the baby is still part of my body.
Being married with an African, made me realize that are some methods they have that are in fact quite useful.
So we use this sort of African fabric called "capulanas" to strap the baby on our back or on our sides.
Thou they are quite handy because they allow us to move around freely with the baby, they are not very comfortable I have to admit.
Thankfully, someone came up with the slings for babies! And those yes! They are amazing!
On Slinglings.com you can find those comfy ones in the most beautiful patterns.
So if you are thinking, what good is it for, just consider this:

-If you are an active parent, you don't have to stop cause you can move all around with your hands free
-Keeping the baby close to you calms the baby
-It helps strengthening the mother/baby bond
-Breastfeeding will be easier for you and for the baby as well
-You can use it in different positions
-You can use it since the day the baby is born till he/she gets to 35lbs
-When you're not using it it's easy to keep it away because you can fold it
-The patterns are gorgeous!
-The baby body weight is perfectly distribute
-There are 10 sizes so you don't have to worry
-You can get also a leg padding to make the hip carry more comfortable
-It's easy to care.Just wash it in the machine and line dry it

And they are hand made in Seattle!
So if you have a baby or even a toddler needing begging you to carry him/her the whole time, a baby carrier would be the right choice!!!Just think of all the advantages!
